Motivational Monday

Another Monday is here, and almost gone. It has been a very busy, crazy, and emotional Monday, so this is going to be a very personal quote today.
I lost my Great-Grandfather late last week, and today was his funeral. It was a very rough day for me, but I know it was for the best. It was his time, and is no longer in pain, and suffering. He is up in heaven with my Great-Grandmaother watching over my family and I.

Motivational Monday!

It has been awhile since I have posted a Motivational Monday quote! It has been a busy, and stressful couple of months, and that's why I chose this quote for today.  No matter how stressful the day may be, we always need to remember how blessed we are.  I know I need to focus more on my family, and less on things that make me stressed!! I know its Monday, but take some time to remember how truly blessed you are!

Reasons for not posting a lot

So today I thought I would maybe do something a little different. I thought I would maybe explain why I am so infrequent with my blog post. As some of you may know my husband recently made a career change, and is now a police officer. With this he is in his training period, and frequently is switching schedules. It makes it very hard to keep days straight, and keep the kids on a good schedule. (that makes for crazy days) I also picked up a couple babysitting jobs which doesn't give me much free time anymore. That being said, the days he is off we try and spend as much "family" time with his as we can. That means I don't get on the computer that often to update my blog. I will try my hardest to get posts up more often. I am working on a couple ideas I have now, and once the hubby's schedule stops changing so much i will be back to posting regularly! I hope everyone can understand.

Motivational Monday

This has to be my all time favorite quote, and just what i needed to see today! I feel like I have been going non stop lately with cleaning, babysitting, and making sure my hubby is ready for work that i feel like I always forgot about my babies. This is a reminder that everything can wait, and spend time with your kids.

*Clipart from here. They have some really cute graphics, so if you are looking for some go check them out!

Motivational Monday

Its Monday and I'm finally getting around to do my quote after another long break!

This has been so true to me the past month or so! My family and I have just had one thing after another happen to us! Thats the reasons i have been taking so many breaks from the blog. I feel like we are getting to a better place, so its time to get back to blogging. For anybody else out there going through hard times right now, just know it does get better in time.

Day 26

I am back after a much needed break! Sorry for taking so long to get back into blogging, but i needed to just take a break , and breath for awhile! Now seeing as i missed so many days, i will just be starting from today.
Day 26 of the blog challenge is what's my favorite food?  Now the husband and I are big foodies and LOVE food a lot! Maybe more than most people. :) We are always open to trying new foods, and even restaurants. So that being said, I have tons of favorites. My top favorite food would have to be sushi! Its actually a new favorite for me. I never liked sushi until just recently. My next favorite would have to be the good old chicken fingers and fries. Can never go wrong with chicken fingers. And last but not least would have to be any kind of pasta! I do have an Italian background, so of course i love anything Italian!!
These are my favorite foods, now let me know yours in the comments below!

Day 17

Day 17 is when did i start blogging and why? I started blogging about 3 months ago. I have always wanted to start a blog and just have never done it. I started looking up information and tips on Pinterest, and decided it was time to try and blog. So far I am loving it. I haven't done many post, other than the challenge right now, but have some ideas in mind! Keep an eye out for them! :)

Day 15 & !6

This week is going to get crazy, so i apologize now if i miss a couple days. We are going through some family things right now. Anyway, lets get on with the post!!!

Day 15 is list 10 things that make me awesome or a better person.

  1. Im a very loving person.
  2. I am a forgiving person. I try not to hold grudges against people, and try and let it go. i find nothing good ever comes out of hold grudges. It only makes things worse.
  3. I try not to judge people. I like the saying "Never judge a book by its cover" You never know what that person is going through, or has been through.
  4. I am very supportive. I love to just listen to friends/family and love to support them in every decision that make. For example my husband doing a career change. I am on board with this 100% and supported him in every step of the way.
  5. I would like to think i am a generous person. Im always trying to help out when people need it. I usually never say no to helping someone unless i already have pervious plans.
  6. I am a very caring person. Sometimes i think i may be to caring of a person.
  7. I am a independent person. I always try and do stuff on my own before asking for help.
  8. Trusting.
  9. I am pretty understanding.
  10. And last is I always try to pay attention when people are talking to me.
Day 16 is what is my biggest accomplishment. This is a no brainer. That would be my husband and kids. I know what you are saying, this is a typical answer, but to me this is the biggest accomplishment for me. I am 27 and was married at 20 and had my first child at 23. That really didn't give me much time to discover anything. I would never change anything that i did. I love my husband more and more each day. And my kids are the greatest kids ever.
*I would would to see what everybody's biggest accomplishments are as well as what makes you an awesome/better person.

Day 14

Today is whats on my iPod. I am a huge fan of using Spotify on my phone/computer.  Its a music app that lets you play any song instantly. Now lets get on with whats on my iPod. I am a huge country music fan, so that is all that is on my phone. I love Jason Aldean, Brantly Gilbert, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line. Oh the list goes on!
I know this is a short post, but i guess when you only listen to one type of music that happens. :)

Day 12 & 13

I am really trying to get to this new schedule my husband is working! He was off yesterday, and we had a family day all day, which you guessed it... No blog yesterday.
So day 12 is something that i miss. I guess i would have to say the one thing that i miss is being able to go out with the hubby and have a nice night out! I absolutely love my kids, but after having them we never go out. We do a lot of date nights at home now.

Day 13 is do I have a regret? My answer to that would be yes. It is nothing big, but i wish i would have done better in school. I was not very good in school, and never really tried. I wish i could go back and actually pay attention in class! Other than that i don't regret anything in my life. Everything other than school has made me a better person. Or i would like to think it does.

I hope everybody has a great day today! I think we are going to have another family day later seeing as hubby is off again today! :)

Motivational Monday

Yet again its another monday, which means another motivational quote! I enjoy doing these every monday. It is really helping me get through the week, and i hope it is also helping some of you!

Day 10 & 11

Yesterday was a very crazy day in my little house! The kids were sick and crabby, and i was not feeling well myself, so i took the day off of pretty much everything yesterday! I am back at it today....
Day 10 is a daily routine. This is going to be a little difficult seeing as our schedule has just changed.  And possibly will be changing again soon. Anyway....
The kids and I usually get up around 6-8, then have breakfast. They play in their play room that we just recently built for a bit while i get my blog/bills paid/or whatever else i have to get done. Then around noon it is lunch time. After lunch its nap time!!! Which then means its time for mommy to clean the house, or sit and read/watch whatever show I'm into at the time. After they got up we have a snack, and then we either go outside, or play in the playroom. Dinner is usually at about 5-5:30. We clean up, get baths and then the kids are in bed by 8-8:30. Like i said this is just kind of what the schedule is like now, and could change. I will put together a better schedule in a future post.

Day 11 is the last book i read. That would be the Just One Night series by Kyra Davis. I don't want to give away to much, just in case anybody wants to check it out. This is a erotic trilogy! Go check it out on Goodreads to see if you would like to read.

Day 9

Today is my life list/ bucket list.
This post is going to be kind of difficult for me, seeing as i have never really thought about any of this. So today it looks like i will be writing a bucket list! :)

1. Visit Niagara Falls

*Photo from here.

2.  The husband and I are big foodies, and also big fans of Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. So i would love to travel to one of the restaurants featured on the show.
*Photo from here.
3. Either make a care package for a shelter, or would love to donate school supplies.

4. I would love to go to New York around christmas time! Or anytime for that matter!!

5. Go to Disney World!

Day 7 & 8

Yesterday was my birthday so I decided to take the day off from pretty much everything! :) So today is going to be days 7 & 8!
Day 7 is what is my dream job? I guess in a way i am already doing my dream job. I have always wanted to be a stay at home mom, and my husband has made that possible for me.  I would love though to have a job where i can craft! I am huge on crafting!

Day 8 is my biggest pet peeve. Im going to have to say my biggest pet peeve would have to be people that just can't sit still. My husband happens to be one of those people. He will sit on the couch and just constantly move his foot or is shaking his leg!

These days of the challenge are not very interesting. I would love to know everybody else's pet peeves or your dream job.

Day 5 & 6

Yesterday was a very crazy day, so i apologize for not posting yesterday. We were in the car all day yesterday, and it was kind of a last minute trip. Once again it will be 2 days in one post. Lets get started with day 5 & 6 of the challenge.

Day 5 is my favorite movies i never get tired of watching. My number 1 movie that i will probably never get tired of watching is... The Little Mermaid. It was my absolute favorite movie as a little girl, and still is to this day. I am always so excited that my daughter loves the little mermaid as well! :)
Another favorite is Beauty And The Beast. I have never realized how good that movie was, until just recently when i started watching it with S. Its another movie that we have probably watched 20 times already, and we are not tired of watching it yet!
Does anybody else see a pattern here? Haha you know your a mom when the movies you pick are all children's movies! :)
*Clipart is from here.

And now on to day 6 which is.....My last random act of kindness. That would have been around christmas time, when my family and I donated canned goods. Doing this challenge is making me realize a whole lot of things. Like i really need to get better about doing random acts of kinds to show my kids how awesome it is to give back.

Motivation Monday

I am so confused on my days now that my husband has a new schedule. He is working 4 on and 3 off now, so i never know what day it is anymore. Anyway what i was getting to was that it is monday, so that means another Motivational Monday quote!!!

I'm not sure i like the way this came out, but i was having a hard time finding a background/clipart that went together. * Clipart is from here. Anyway this is something i need to tell myself all the time. If you want it bad enough, you WILL make time for it. I am going to be pushing myself from now on, and not letting myself give up anymore!!

Day 4....

Day 4 is a favorite childhood memory! I would have to say my favorite memory is not of a specific day, but of many days in general. My dad owns a tire center, and i can remember my brothers and I  always going to work with him. I know what your thinking, boring right? But it was far from boring. I remember there was an upstairs that had racks and racks of tires on them, and we would crawl through the tires. I can also remember packing lunches, and sitting upstairs eating them. It was like we would have a little picnic. We would sometimes help work as well. Changing oil, or helping roll the tires to the cars. It was the best time ever!

I want to know you guys favorite childhood memory! Leave them in the comments below.

Day 2 & 3.....

Yesterday was a very crazy day, and i never got around to posting my day 2.  So today i will be posting days 2 & 3 together.
Day 2 of the challenge is my favorite quotes.

Day 3 is what makes me happy. This is a very easy one for me. My family is what makes me happy everyday! Spending time with my husband always makes anything bad that happened that day better. And my kids, i love waking up to their smiling faces everyday! Both my husband and kids are truly the best thing that has ever happened to me!
* I want to know everybody else favorite quotes, and what makes you happy!
*some backgrounds are from  here.

Motivational Monday

It's Monday, which means yet another Motivational Monday quote!! I am really enjoying doing these every Monday. Its really helped me to be a better person throughout the week! I am hoping that it is helping others as well.

I am a big fan of this quote. I am a very sensitive, and emotional person. And more so now that my husband is a police officer! This is a reminder to me that it is okay to show emotions, and not to keep them to myself. I love to think i am a very strong person, but some days you just have to sit back and be emotional.

5 Fun Inexpensive Things To Do This Summer

So being a stay-at-home mommy means that funds are tight in our house! I'm sure lots of people now a days are on a budget of some sort, so today I thought I would share our favorite inexpensive things to do this summer.
 1. I think our top one is defiantly a pool! Whether it be a cheap one you get at Walmart, Toys R Us, etc... Or even splash pads, or a public pool. My kids will spend hrs in ours, and boy do they get along while playing in it.
Playing in the pool

 2. Is probably our bubble machine we just got. Just like the pool they will spend hrs just running around popping bubbles. Bubble machine are also pretty inexpensive. They also make bubble guns, which my kids also really like. And yes that would be my son popping bubbles with a shovel! :)
J popping bubbles

 3. Parks- Our backyard is not big enough for a swing set, so we like to go to different parks. We also have a school close by, so while the kids are on spring break we like to walk up (kids like to ride in the wagon) to the school and use the swing set. Sometimes we will pack a lunch and do a picnic at the park.
S on the playground
 4. Zoo- This is a little more costly than the previous 3, but not break the bank expensive. We have not had a chance to make it to the zoo yet this year, but are planning a trip real soon. Once again we usually pack a lunch to take, just to save a little bit of money, and we are not big fans of fast food.

 5. Fishing- we just took the kids fishing a couple weeks ago and they had a blast. It is a little costly if you don't have any supplies already, but it's well worth it to buy them. We just went to Walmart and bought fishing poles and everything else needed and didn't end up spending a whole lot. We also had to buy fishing license but they last up until May of 2015. Now the next time we go all we have to buy is bait, which doesn't cost that much.
Having Fun Fishing

These are our top 5.... Hope everybody is enjoying their summer so far, and maybe check into some of these things. As we find more fun activities maybe I will post another blog about them.

A little about me!

Im back after a short break. The family and I have been going non stop for a while now, and I'm finally able to sit down and blog a little. I thought today i would write a little about my family and I. Lets start off with me. I am almost 27, and I'm a stay at home mommy, I wouldn't change that for the world. Its hard some days, but love spending time with my children.! Before becoming a stay at home mommy i was a daycare teacher for 6 years. My wonderful husband who we will call M. He actually works for my dad, and thats how we met. He is soon to be making a career change to become a police officer. Its something he has always wanted to do. We have been together for 8 years, and married for 6! We are blessed with 2 beautiful children. J who is my oldest. He is 3 going on 20. :) He is very independent, and super smart. Next is my daughter S. She is turning 2 in a couple weeks, and is very sassy and such a bruiser.
Hope you all enjoyed getting to know a little about me. Also i would like to take a moment to see if there is any topics you guys would like to see me write about. Please leave them in the comments.

Doggie Treats

As I was importing pictures into my computer I can across a very cute picture of our puppy dog! Only she is no longer a puppy and more like a cow!
Daisy Dog
This post as you can probably tell will be related to dogs! I wanted to give Daisy a treat, but didn't want to run out to the store and buy any! So i went on good old Pinterest to find a recipe and came across this one here! :)

Now lets get started with what you need.....The best part of this recipe is that it involves very few ingredients, and takes no time at all.
Oats, baby food, cookie cutter
All you need is oat flour, whole wheat flour or I'm sure you could use all purpose flour. Just make sure your puppy/dog does not have any allergies to any of these ingredients before making these! :) 2 4 oz jars of baby food. You can use any size you want, depending on the size of the jar will give the treats a little more flavor. But keep in mind you may need to add a little more flour.  (I used corn and sweet potato, but you can use any flavor as long as it doesn't have onion/onion powder or grapes/raisins.)  And last thing is some sort of cookie cutter. I didn't have anything dog or bone shaped, so i just used a small circle cookie cutter. And thats it. Simple right?! And don't forgot to preheat your oven to 350°.
Oat Flour
I didn't have flour in the house (weird right?!) but did have tons of oats, so i got out my favorite kitchen gadget.... The Nutribullet, and made oat flour myself.

Now time to mix everything together, and i forgot to mention in the ingredient list that i added a little bit of parsley. I guess it is supposed to help with bad breath, but my dog has the worst breath ever and it did not help hers. :)
Mix, Mix, Mix
Keep mixing it together, it will turn out dough like.
Dog treat dough
Now flour your surface and place dough on it. Roll out dough until its about 1/4 inch thick.  Once thats done use your cookie cutter to cut into desired shapes.
I lined my baking sheets with wax paper and placed the treats on it.  Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes. Let them cool, and then store them put them in a paper bag. You can also use a air tight container but they will get soft. * I tried just a ziploc bag because thats all i had, and they do not work. The treats became soft and moldy real fast.

1 day diet meals.

So I am very excited to finally start blogging. Life has been crazy lately, and haven't really had time to sit down and start this up. My husband has decided to make a career change, and for the past 7 months has been going to a police academy! Not only was he doing that , but was also working a full time job. That meant that my 2 kids and I were home a awful lot by ourselves. And any of you that are moms know how crazy and hard that could be sometimes. Now we are hoping and praying that he gets a job soon and we can start a new chapter in our lives. I will probably do some blog posts about our new journey along with many other things. Some examples are, crafting project ( I love to craft), maybe some decorate with me, food recipes, and much, much more! :) So now that i got that out of the way lets jump right in to the post……

This is going to be one of the many food post I do. I love food so be prepaid for many of them. :) I am part Italian and love any kind of pasta and bread. I grew up eating tons of it and still do. That is until the husband and I decided to start a diet. Its nothing real big, but we are going to start watching our carbs. We sat down and came up with a healthy meal plan together. We eat all our carbs in the mornings, then at lunch we eat some carbs and protein, and then we do a no carb dinner. I have been on it for about a week now and i already feel so much better. Today I'm only going to show 1 day of meals, but in the future i may do a whole week. So onto the meals…..

So this was breakfast, I just fried up the potatoes in a pan with some Mr. Dash Garlic and Herb seasoning and a little bit of olive oil. Then poached the eggs and put those on some English muffin bread. And of course you can't forget the Franks Hot Sauce.
Potatoes, and Eggs
Lunch was a salad with tuna on it. Also i put in some chick peas, egg, a little bit of mozzarella cheese and some buttermilk ranch dressing. I also had a protein shake with it. (vanilla protein powder and almond milk)
Salad, Protein Shake
Snack was some fruit and of course cream cheese fruit dip! :)
Fruit
And finally dinner was a steak and some broccoli. We actually went out to dinner with family this night and it was very hard to stick to the diet, but i did it!
Steak, Broccoli

*Notice the fine china we have! LOL :) I just find paper plates make clean up 10 times easier.
